Amazon Blocks Meta's Muse AI Agent From Shopping on Its Store

Muse is an AI agent launched by Meta to perform tasks on behalf of users, including shopping and completing purchases on external online stores.

Amazon said continued access by an unauthorized AI agent violates its Conditions of Use, and raised privacy and security concerns because the agent does not identify itself while browsing and appears to capture customer credentials.

According to Geekwire, Meta did not notify Amazon that Muse would access its store, which deepened the dispute between the two companies.

The dispute highlights the need for clear protocols for AI shopping agents, a critical issue for platforms like Noon and Amazon Middle East that rely on customer credentials and trust.
